i also made something that probably comes in handy in most san francisco households:
a few of the windows in our apartment rattle when it's windy, and it drives me crazy, especially while i'm trying to sleep. so when i saw this idea in lotta jandsotter's book, i knew i'd be making a few. it was actually the easiest thing i've made so far, and it was fun to fill it with rice and see the tube become three dimensional.
here's another look, this time in the living room:
it doesn't actually 'work' in the living room because the ledge on this window is tapered, which means the snake needs to be skinnier to fit snugly along the bottom edge of the window frame. i think i will make another, skinnier version because this is actually the window that's most rattly (and annoying!)
