Today, in a nutshell, and in no particular order

1. beers in the park

2. guy twirling fire batons

3. tank top, no sweater necessary

4. line around the block at bi-rite creamery

5. warm breeze, indigo sky

6. air conditioning?!?

7. popsicles

8. got my hair cut, and the stylist washed my hair with cold water. it was amazing.

9. also i think the hot weather makes people lazy. or perhaps more conscious about water usage. today, on two separate occasions, i walked into the bathroom at work, only to find that the person who'd used it before me hadn't flushed. (flashback: when my older brother went to college, he came back an environmentalist and, for several years, refused to flush the toilet. we shared a bathroom, and it was gross.)

Brother Bob's fishies, take two

my brother, bob, sent me these shots of his aquarium, the various leafy and fishy contents of which appear to be doing really well. he started his tank from scratch last year after moving from sf to dc. he used to have this giant tank of cichlids, many of which (whom?) had babies that had to be quarantined in a separate tank for fear of being eaten by their mothers.

someday when it's not 1 a.m. on a sunday night (monday morning), i'll have to tell you about the time when bob bought kissing fish when we were kids. we had to spy on them to see them kiss because apparently they only smooch when no one's looking.
